Check the steering gear preload adjustment.

Perform a rack bearing preload adjustment.

Check the hydraulic system. Test the power steering system pressure with a gage.

Replace the seals and the hoses, as needed.

Check for binding or catching in the steering gear.

Check for a loose steering gear mounting.

Tighten the steering gear mounting bracket nuts and the bolts.
