Preliminary Procedures

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the liftgate interior trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement .
3. Remove the center applique screw from inside the liftgate panel.
4. Remove the 2 outer applique nuts, also from inside the liftgate.

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Liftgate Center Applique Assembly Nuts (Qty: 2)

Tighten
4 N·m (35 lb in)

Liftgate Center Applique Assembly Retainers (Qty: 2)

Tip
Release the retainers from inside the applique panel.

Adhesive Tape

Tip
Release the adhesive tape backing and wet out after the rear applique has been installed to the liftgate panel.
