Cleaning Procedure
- Remove any sealant from the engine front cover.
- Clean out debris from the bolt holes.
- Clean the engine front cover in solvent.
Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.
- Dry the engine front cover with compressed air.
Inspection Procedure
- Inspect the engine front cover for the following:
| • | Excessive scratches or gouging of the gasket sealing surfaces |
| • | Damaged threaded bolt holes |
| • | Damaged crankshaft oil seal mounting bore |
| • | Damaged crankshaft position sensor mounting hole |
- Repair or replace the engine front cover as necessary.
