Removal Procedure
  1. Complete the lever pin up procedure. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling .

    2. Object Number: 159787 Size: SH
  2. Loosen the cable at the cable adjuster.
  3. Disconnect the front cable from the rear cables.
  4. Remove the rear brake shoes from the backing plate.
  5. Disconnect the cable from the backing plate retainer.

    6. Object Number: 321732 Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 321732 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear cable to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the rear cable to the backing plate retainer.
  3. Connect the rear brake shoes to the backing plate.

    4. Object Number: 159787 Size: SH
  4. Connect the front cable to the rear cables.

    5. Object Number: 159769 Size: SH
  5. Remove the pin (1) from the lever.
  6. Place the lever to the FULL up position.

    7. Object Number: 321732 Size: SH
  7. Measure the threads of the equalizer. Adjust the threads to the following specifications:
    8. • Passenger/Cargo to 13 mm (0.511 in)
    • Cutaway/Upfitters to 21 mm (0.826 in)
  8. Verify that the vehicle will hold the position with the brake lever depressed.
  9. If additional adjustments need to be made, refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment .
