1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Turn the windshield wiper/washer switch to the off position.

Do the windshield wipers remain in the park position?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Disconnect the windshield wiper/washer switch pigtail connector.

Do the windshield wipers stop?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 4

1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
2. Test and repair the following circuits for a short to voltage:

•	windshield wiper motor high speed voltage supply

•	windshield wiper/washer switch signal

Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

Replace the windshield wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Replace the windshield wiper/washer switch.

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
