Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1729415 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter and Oil Cooler Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (2).
  4. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (1).

    5. Object Number: 1336117 Size: SH
  5. Remove the water pump outlet pipe.
  6. Remove and discard the water pump outlet pipe O-ring and gasket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1336117 Size: SH
  1. Install a NEW water pump outlet pipe O-ring onto the pipe.
  2. Lubricate the O-ring seal with engine coolant.
  3. Position a NEW water pump outlet pipe gasket to the water pump.
  4. Install the water pump outlet pipe.
  5. Install the oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter and Oil Cooler Assembly Replacement .

    6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1729415 Size: SH
  6. Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (1).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the studs to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  7. Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (2).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
