The electronic brake control module (EBCM) supplies a reference voltage of 12 volts to the yaw rate sensor/lateral accelerometer sensor and the steering angle sensor. The sensor supply voltage is monitored via an internal feedback circuit to the EBCM microprocessor.
| • | Ignition ON. |
| • | Ignition voltage is greater than 10 volts. |
The EBCM detects that the sensor supply voltage is less than 11.75 volts or greater than 12.25 volts for 30 milliseconds.
| • | The EBCM turns OFF the 12-volt reference circuit, until the ignition is cycled. |
| • | The EBCM disables the traction control system (TCS)/vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) for the duration of the ignition cycle. |
| • | The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present and the DTC is cleared with a scan tool. |
| • | The EBCM clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles. |
If the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer sensor is disconnected, DTCs will set and the EBCM will not provide 12-volt reference.

Control Module References for EBCM
| ⇒ | Verify that no other DTCS have set. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle. |
| ⇒ | If greater than the specified value, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the EBCM. |
| ⇒ | If all circuits test normal, replace the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer sensor, cycle the ignition switch and perform the yaw rate sensor reference table reset procedure. |
| ⇒ | If the DTC sets again after replacing the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer sensor, replace the EBCM. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
