    • J 45059 Angle Meter

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 467429 Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  3. Use the J 38122-A to prevent the crankshaft from rotating while loosening the crankshaft balancer bolt.

    4. Object Number: 412138 Size: SH
  4. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt. Discard the bolt.
  5. Remove the balancer using a universal removal tool.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 412138 Size: SH

    Notice: Ensure both components are aligned correctly or serious engine damage will occur.

  1. Install the crankshaft balancer onto the crankshaft indexing keyway. Use care to properly align the keyway and the flats on the balancer with the oil pump drive.
  2. Install the crankshaft balancer using a universal balancer installer.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: Always install a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt and washer.

  3. Install a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt. Use the J 38122-A to prevent the crankshaft from rotating when tightening the bolt.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft) plus an additional 125 degrees using the J 45059 .

  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Install the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
