Preliminary Procedures

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the liftgate interior trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement.
3. Disconnect the 2 license plate lamp bulb sockets by turning a quarter turn counterclockwise.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector for the liftgate latch switch.

Liftgate Center Applique Nut (Qty: 2)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Liftgate Center Applique Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Liftgate Center Applique Assembly

Tip
Pull the liftgate applique downward, using a slight angular motion to release the studs from the inner liftgate panel.
