Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2003 🢒 Kodiak C-Series (Conventional) C4/C5 🢒 Transmission/Transaxle 🢒 Clutch 🢒 Release Bearing Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. If not equipped with the ML6 transmission, remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the Medium Duty transmission.

    2. Object Number: 799712 Size: SH
  2. If equipped with a ML6 transmission, perform the following.
    3. 2.1. Remove the transmission mounts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement for the ZF S6-650 transmission.
    2.2. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the ZF S6-650 transmission.
    2.3. Remove the clutch housing bolts and the clutch housing from the flywheel housing adapter.

  3. Remove the release bearing.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 826888 Size: SH
  1. Apply lubricant GM P/N 12378484 or equivalent to the release bearing .
  2. Install the release bearing.
  3. If not equipped with a ML6, install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the Medium Duty transmission.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. If equipped with a ML6 transmission, perform the following:
    5. 4.1. Install the clutch housing to the flywheel housing adapter with the clutch housing bolts.

    Tighten
    Tighten the clutch housing bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    4.2. Install the transmission mounts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement for the ZF S6-650 transmission.
    4.3. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement for the ZF S6-650 transmission.
