Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement L18

Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.



2. Disconnect the hose from the pump.
3. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
4. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

1. Install the hose to the power steering pump.
2. Install the hose to the power steering reservoir.

Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Tighten the clamp.

Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).

4. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.



2. Disconnect the hose from the pump.



3. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
4. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

1. Install the hose to the reservoir.
2. Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Tighten the hose clamp.

Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).




4. Install the hose to the power steering pump.
5. Fill the power steering reservoir with fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

1. Remove the straps securing the reservoir outlet hose.

Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

2. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.



3. Disconnect the hose from the pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .



4. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.
5. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

1. Install the hose to the power steering reservoir.

Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Tighten the hose clamp.

Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).




3. Install the hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .



4. Install the straps securing the reservoir outlet hose.
5. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

3. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.



4. Disconnect the hose from the engine brackets.
5. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

1. Install the hose to the engine brackets.



2. Install the hose to the power steering reservoir.
3. Make sure the clamp is positioned at the end of the hose.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Tighten the hose clamp.

Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 5 N·m (45 lb in).




5. Install the hose to the power steering pump.
6. Fill the power steering reservoir with fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
7. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
