J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
2. Remove the hose clamps from the heater inlet and outlet using the J 38185 .
3. Remove the auxiliary heater pipes from the heater inlet and outlet.
4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
5. Remove the hose clamps from the auxiliary heater core using the J 38185 .



6. Remove the auxiliary heater pipes (2, 3) from the auxiliary heater core.



7. Remove the auxiliary heater pipe retaining nut (1, 4).
8. Remove the auxiliary heater pipes.

1. Install the auxiliary heater pipes.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




2. Install the auxiliary heater pipe retaining nuts (1, 4).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).




3. Install the auxiliary heater pipes (2, 3) to the auxiliary heater core.
4. Install the hose clamps to the auxiliary heater core using the J 38185 .
5. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
6. Install the auxiliary heater pipes to the heater inlet and outlet.
7. Install the hose clamps to the heater inlet and outlet using the J 38185 .
8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
