Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Drain the engine oil from the crankcase.
  4. Remove the engine oil level switch.

  5. Remove the bolts, nuts and fixing plate from the oil pan.
  6. Remove the oil pan.

    7. Important: All mating surfaces must be free of oil and dirt.

  7. Clean sealant from the oil pan and the block and also clean sludge and dirt from the inside of the oil pan.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 736741 Size: SH
  1. Apply sealant to the oil pan.

    2. Object Number: 736743 Size: MH
  2. Apply a bead of sealant approximately 2 mm (0.08 in) thick and approximately 3 mm (0.12 in) wide to the 4 corners of the cylinder block.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the oil pan fixing plate, bolts and nuts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan bolts to 24 N·m (17 lb ft).

  4. Install the oil level switch.
  5. Connect the negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  6. Fill the crankcase with the proper grade and quantity of engine oil. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
