  1. Install the engine wiring harness assembly.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1335557 Size: SH
  2. Install the right glow plugs.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the glow plugs to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  3. Install the left glow plugs.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the glow plugs to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1650645 Size: SH
  4. Install the glow plug nuts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the glow plug nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the glow plug controller.
  6. Install the glow plug controller bolts.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the glow plug controller bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the oil level sensor harness bolt.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil level sensor harness bolt to 40 N·m (29 lb ft).

  8. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.

  9. Connect the fuel rail pressure sensor.

    10. Object Number: 1335540 Size: SH

    Notice: Label all the injector electrical connectors before the connectors are removed in order to prevent reconnecting to the wrong injector. Failure to properly connect the injectors in the correct sequence will cause severe engine damage.

  10. Connect the turbocharger vane control solenoid valve.

  11. Connect the fuel injector electrical connections.

  12. Connect and install the turbocharger vane position sensor.

    13. Tighten
    Tighten the turbocharger vane position sensor to 23 N·m (16 lb ft).

  13. Connect the glow plug controller electrical connector.

    14. Object Number: 1335528 Size: SH
  14. Connect the fuel temperature sensor connector.

    15. Object Number: 1335526 Size: SH
  15. Connect the oil level sensor electrical harness connector.

    16. Object Number: 1335482 Size: SH
  16. Connect the fuel pressure control valve electrical connector.

    17. Object Number: 1335476 Size: SH
  17. Install the tie strap to the electrical harness.

    18. Object Number: 1335470 Size: SH
  18. Connect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.

    19. Object Number: 1335467 Size: SH
  19. Install the two ground bolts.

    20. Tighten
    Tighten the ground bolts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  20. Connect the EGR valve electrical connector.

  21. Install the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) pipe.

    22. Object Number: 1335460 Size: SH
  22. Install the left PCV pipe bolt.

    23. Tighten
    Tighten the PCV pipe bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1335456 Size: SH
  23. Install the right PCV pipe bolt.

    24. Tighten
    Tighten the PCV pipe bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1335454 Size: SH
  24. Connect the PCV hose clamp.

    25. Object Number: 1335450 Size: SH
  25. Install the right glow plug harness bracket bolts.

    26. Tighten
    Tighten the glow plug harness bracket bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1335443 Size: SH
  26. Install the left glow plug harness bracket bolts.

    27. Tighten
    Tighten the glow plug harness bracket bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
