Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1658589 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Disconnect the 2 engine harness electrical connectors from the glow plug control module.

    3. Object Number: 1658597 Size: SH
  3. Remove the glow plug control module bolts.
  4. Remove the glow plug control module.
  5. Remove the glow plug control module bracket bolts, if required.
  6. Remove the glow plug control module bracket, if required.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1658597 Size: SH
  1. Install the glow plug control module bracket, if required.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the glow plug control module bracket bolts, if required.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the glow plug control module.
  4. Install the glow plug control module bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Connect the 2 engine harness electrical connectors to the glow plug control module.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  7. If a NEW glow plug control module was installed, program the module. Refer to Control Module References .
