Makes šŸ¢’ Chevrolet šŸ¢’ 2007 šŸ¢’ Kodiak C-Series (Conventional) C6/C7/C8 šŸ¢’ Brakes šŸ¢’ Air Brakes šŸ¢’ Towing Vehicle Protection Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Block the wheels.
  2. Drain the air reservoirs. Refer to Air Brake Reservoir Draining .
  3. Remove the air lines from the towing vehicle protection valve. Refer to Hose and Line Replacement - Nylon Push-In Type Fitting .
  4. Remove the following components:
    5. ā€¢ The nuts
    ā€¢ The washers
    ā€¢ The bolts

  5. Remove the towing vehicle protection valve.
  6. Inspect the air lines for the following conditions:
    7. ā€¢ Damage
    ā€¢ Kinks
    ā€¢ Wear
  7. Replace any damaged, kinked, or worn air lines.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1488347 Size: SH
  1. Install the towing vehicle protection valve.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the following components:
    3. ā€¢ The bolts
    ā€¢ The washers
    ā€¢ The nuts

    Tighten
    Tighten the towing vehicle protection valve nuts to 25 NĀ·m (19 lb ft).

  3. Install the air lines to the towing vehicle protection valve. Refer to Hose and Line Replacement - Nylon Push-In Type Fitting .
  4. Perform the operational test. Refer to Vehicle Tow Protection Valve Operational Check .
  5. Remove the wheel blocks.
