Tools Required

J 42971 Quick Disconnect Tool

1. Drain the air tank. Refer to Air Brake Reservoir Draining .
2. Using the J 42971 , release the air line at the actuator fitting. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .



3. If required, note the position of the fitting and remove from the exhaust brake actuator.
4. Remove the retaining clip from the actuator rod.
5. Lift the actuator and remove it from the brake linkage ball.

1. Install the actuator to the linkage ball.
2. Position the actuator onto the actuator rod.
3. Install the actuator retaining clip.
4. If required, install the fitting to the exhaust brake actuator in the original position.



5. Connect the air line to the fitting on the exhaust brake actuator.
6. Refill the air tank. Refer to Air Brake Reservoir Filling .
7. Inspect the system for leaks.
