Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 717177 Size: SH
  1. Remove the retaining bolts (4).
  2. Remove the bolt (3) from the right side head.
  3. Remove the nuts (1) from the exhaust manifold.
  4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve pipe (2).
  5. Remove the gaskets.
  6. Clean the EGR valve pipe mounting surfaces from dirt and debris.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 717177 Size: SH
  1. Install new gaskets.
  2. Install the EGR valve pipe (2).

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the retaining bolts (4).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  4. Install the bolt (3) to the right side head.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the nuts (1) to the exhaust manifold.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
