Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 660296 Size: SH
  1. If required, raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Place a suitable container under the oil pan.
  3. Remove the oil drain plug.
  4. Drain the engine oil.

    5. Object Number: 660299 Size: SH
  5. Remove the oil filter.
  6. Inspect to ensure the engine oil filter gasket is removed.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 660299 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the oil filter seal with clean engine oil.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the oil filter.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter after contact plus 1 to 1¼ turn.


    Object Number: 660296 Size: SH
  3. Install the oil pan drain plug.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 84 N·m (62 lb ft).

  4. If required, lower the vehicle.
  5. Fill the engine with the proper capacity and quality of engine oil. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations and to Engine Mechanical Specifications.
  6. Operate the engine. Inspect for oil leaks and normal oil pressure.
