Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 201719 Size: SH
  1. Remove the following components from the lower mounting brackets (7):
    2. • The nut (10)
    • The washer (9)
    • The insulator (8)
  2. Remove the shock absorbers (5) from the lower mounting brackets (7). Push the shock absorbers into the fully retracted position.

  3. Remove the following components from the hanger (2):
    4. • The hanger eye bolt nut (4)
    • The washers
    • The bolt (12)
  4. Lower the axle far enough to allow the spring shackle (8) to clear the hanger and allow removal of the bracket (2).

    5. Object Number: 376795 Size: MH
  5. Remove the following components from the side member (3):
    6. • The spring hanger nuts (1, 11)
    • The washers
    • The bolts (6, 7)
    • The spring hanger (4)

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 376795 Size: MH
  1. Install the hanger (4) to the side member with the following parts:
    2. • The bolts (6, 7)
    • The washers
    • The nuts (1, 11)
       - F02: Tighten the spring hanger nuts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).
       - Non F02: Tighten the spring hanger nuts to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

  2. Raise the spring.
  3. Guide the shackle assembly (8) into the hanger aligning the holes.
  4. Install the following components:
    5. 4.1. The bolt (12)
    4.2. The washers (3, 11)
    4.3. The nut (4)

    Tighten the rear spring hanger shackle assembly nut to 330 N·m (243 lb ft).

  5. Install the washer (6) and the insulator (13) if removed.
  6. Install the shock absorber (5) into the lower mounting bracket (7)
  7. Install the following components:
    8. 7.1. The insulator (8)
    7.2. The washer (9)
    7.3. The nut (10)

    Tighten the lower shock absorber nut to 85 N·m (63 lb ft).

  8. Install the front wheel if removed.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Remove the blocks from the wheels.
