Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 1999 🢒 Monte Carlo 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls - 3.1L 🢒 Solenoids and Wiring Harness Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the case side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 164788 Size: SH
  2. Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to remove the wiring harness (224) from the case electrical connector (35).

    3. Object Number: 10505 Size: SH
  3. Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to remove the wiring harness from the solenoid valve(s) and/or the sensor.
  4. Remove the oil pump in order to access the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) solenoid (325). Refer to Oil Pump Replacement .
  5. Remove the clips retaining the solenoid(s).

    6. Object Number: 29363 Size: SH
  6. Remove the solenoid(s).

    7. Object Number: 12968 Size: SH
  7. Remove the 2-3 shift solenoid (315).

    8. Object Number: 13009 Size: SH
  8. Inspect the wiring harness (224) for the following:.
    9. • Cut or pinched wires
    • Cut wire insulation
    • Bent or broken electrical connectors

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 12968 Size: SH
  1. Install the 2-3 shift solenoid (315).

    2. Object Number: 29363 Size: SH
  2. Install the solenoid(s).
  3. Install the retaining clips.
  4. Install the oil pump, if removed. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 13010 Size: SH
  5. Install the wiring harness to the electrical connector in the case, the solenoid valve(s) and/or the sensor.
  6. Install the case side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
