Cable Adjustment Procedure
  1. Set the parking brake.
  2. Block the wheels.
  3. Remove the instrument panel steering column opening filler in order to access the shift indicator cable adjuster. Refer to Steering Wheel and Column On-Vehicle Service.
  4. Place the shifter in Neutral.

    5. Object Number: 190616 Size: SH
  5. Move the adjuster in order to completely fill in the N window with the orange flag.

    6. Object Number: 190618 Size: SH
  6. Unacceptable orange flag placement.

    7. Object Number: 190617 Size: SH
  7. Acceptable orange flag placement.
  8. Recheck the adjustment by moving the shift lever up and down slightly while in the Neutral detent.
  9. Allow the shift lever to rest in its relaxed Neutral position.
  10. Repeat the adjustment if necessary.
  11. The orange flag should indicate proper gear location in every gear when the shifter is shifted through the entire transmission gear detent range.
  12. Return the shifter to Park.
  13. Install the instrument panel steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Wheel and Column On-Vehicle Service.
  14. Unblock the wheels.
  15. Release the parking brake.
