The condition of an automatic transaxle not operating properly may be influenced by one or a combination of the following items:
| • | The fluid level may be too high or too low. Refer to Fluid Level Checking Procedures. | 
| • | The engine may be performing poorly. Refer to Driveability and Emissions or Engine General Information and Mechanical Diagnosis. | 
| • | The throttle valve (TV) cable may be out of adjustment. Refer to TV Cable Adjustment. | 
| • | The shift select cable may be out of adjustment. Refer to Shift Select Cable. | 
| • | The transaxle may have internal fluid leaks. Refer to the Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair Manual. | 
| • | There may be a problem with the electrical system. Refer to Engine Electrical and Electrical Diagnosis in Unit Repair. | 
| • | The vehicle may have a problem in the transaxle or in the other mechanical components. Refer to On-Vehicle Service. |
