Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 428450 Size: SH
  1. From inside the vehicle, loosen the park brake cable adjusting nut (2).
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the intermediate pipe and the catalytic converter heat shields.
  4. Remove the following components from the equalizer:
    5. • The 1 retainer
    • The 2 clamps
    • The right rear cable
  5. Remove the following components from the equalizer:
    6. • The 1 retainer
    • The 2 clamps
    • The left rear cable

  6. Disconnect the park brake front cable (3) from the equalizer (4).
  7. Remove the equalizer.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 702212 Size: SH
  1. Connect the park brake front cable (3) to the equalizer (4).

    2. Important: Install the right rear cable to the left side of the equalizer.

  2. Install the following components to the equalizer (yellow ID tape):
    3. • The 1 retainer
    • The 2 clamps
    • The right rear cable

    Important: Install the left rear cable to the right side of the equalizer.

  3. Install the following components to the equalizer (yellow ID tape):
    4. • The 1 retainer
    • The 2 clamps
    • The left rear cable
  4. Install the intermediate pipe and the catalytic converter heat shield.
  5. Lower the vehicle.

  6. Adjust the park brake cable (3). Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
