Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 61943 Size: SH
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  3. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  4. Remove the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
  5. Remove the fuel level sensor electrical connectors from the modular fuel sender.
  6. Remove the fuel level sensor (1) from modular fuel sender.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 61943 Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel level sensor to the modular fuel sender.
  2. Install the fuel level sensor electrical connectors to the modular fuel sender.
  3. Install the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
  4. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  5. Refill the fuel tank.
  6. Install the negative battery cable.
  7. Inspect for fuel leaks through the following steps:
    8. 7.1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position for two seconds
    7.2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position for ten seconds.
    7.3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position
    7.4. Check for fuel leaks.
