| • | There are two tie rod assemblies. | 
| Each tie rod assembly consists of the following components: | 
| - | Sleeve | 
| - | Two clamps | 
| - | Two tie rod ends | 
| • | The two tie rod ends are threaded into the sleeve and secured with the clamps. | 
| • | The right and left hand threads are used for the following components: | 
| - | Toe-in adjustments | 
| - | Steering gear centering | 
| • | Before any service is performed, note the following items: | 
| - | Position of the tie rod adjuster tube | 
| - | Direction from which the bolts are installed | 
| • | The tie rod adjuster components may be rusted. | 
| If the torque required to remove the nut from the bolt exceeds 9 N·m (62 lb in), perform the following steps: | 
| - | Replace the nuts. | 
| - | Rotate the clamps until they move freely. | 
| • | Install all parts, with the correct part number, in the proper position. | 
| • | All of the procedures for the following items apply to the left and the right sides: | 
| - | Alignment | 
| - | Adjustment | 
| - | Assembly |
