Inspect the VECHMSL fuse in the underhood fuse block.

Is the fuse open?

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 1320 (LT BLU).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the high mount stoplamp.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between CKT 1320 (LT BLU) and ground
  3. Apply the service brakes.

Is voltage present?

Battery voltage

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair the open CKT 1320 (LT BLU).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

  1. Connect a J 39200 DMM between CKT 1320 (LT BLU) and CKT 1850 (BLK) at the high mount stoplamp connector.
  2. Apply the service brake.

Is voltage present?

Battery voltage

Replace the high mount stoplamp. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
