Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2001 🢒 S10 Pickup - 2WD 🢒 General Information 🢒 Maintenance and Lubrication 🢒 Fuel Filter Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Raise vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

    3. Object Number: 638583 Size: SH
  3. Remove the fuel filter quick-connect fittings. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  4. Remove the clamp bolt.
  5. Remove the filter and the clamp from the fuel pipes.

    6. Object Number: 638579 Size: SH
  6. Remove the clamp from the filter.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 638579 Size: SH

    Notice: Always re-attach the fuel lines and fuel filter with all original type fasteners and hardware.

    Do not repair sections of fuel pipes.

  1. Install the clamp to the fuel filter.
  2. Install the filter and clamp to the fuel pipes.
  3. Install the clamp bolt.

  4. Install the fuel filter quick-connect fitting. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Lower vehicle.
  7. Inspect for fuel leaks through the following steps:
    8. 7.1. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds.
    7.2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    7.3. Turn ON the ignition.
    7.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
