DEFINITION: A ping, snap or click is usually heard on initial load after the transmission is in gear, either forward or reverse.

The rear springs or upper and lower control arms have loose bushing bolts.

Tighten the bolts to the specified value. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

The fixed yoke or companion flange is loose.

Tighten the bolts and pinion nut to the specified value. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

The universal joints are worn or damaged.

Replace the universal joints. Refer to Double Cardan Universal Joints Replacement .
