Front Seat Back Replacement Bench Seat
                    
Removal Procedure
- Remove the seat from the
  vehicle. Refer to  
Bucket Seat Replacement 
    or  
Bench Seat Replacement 
 .
 
- Remove the recliner assembly. Refer to 
Front Seat Recliner Replacement 
  .
 
- Remove the seat back pivot bolt.
 
- Remove the seat back from the lower frame.
 
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat back
  to the lower frame.
 
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the seat
  back pivot bolt.
 
Tighten
Tighten the seat back pivot bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Install the recliner assembly. Refer to 
Front Seat Recliner Replacement 
  .
 
- Install the seat to the vehicle. Refer to 
Bucket Seat Replacement 
   or  
Bench Seat Replacement 
   .

Removal Procedure
- Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to 
Bucket Seat Replacement 
.
 
- Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to 
Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement 
.
 
- Remove the seat cushion trim cover and pad. Refer to 
Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement 
.
 
- Disconnect the electrical connector for the seat back recliner motor,
if equipped.
 
- Remove the bolts securing the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.
 
- Remove the seat back.
 
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.

- Install the bolts
securing the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.
 
Tighten
Tighten the seat back bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector for the seat back recliner motor, if
equipped.
 
- Install the seat cushion trim cover and pad. Refer to 
Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement 
.
 
- Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to 
Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement 
.
 
- Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to 
Bucket Seat Replacement
