Removal Procedure
- Remove the differential assembly. Refer to
Differential Replacement
.
- Remove the bell side differential side bearing
by performing the following steps:
| 2.1. | Install the differential assembly in a vise. |
| 2.3. | Remove the differential side bearing using the J 22888-20A
. |
- Remove the differential assembly from the vise.
- Remove the ring gear side differential side
bearing by performing the following steps:
| 4.1. | Install the differential assembly in a vise. |
| 4.3. | Remove the differential side bearing using the J 22888-20A
. |
- Remove the differential assembly from the vise.
Installation Procedure
- Install
the ring gear side differential side bearing by doing the following:
| 1.1. | In order to protect the differential case, install the J 8107-4
in the case on the side opposite the bearing
installation. |
| 1.2. | Install the differential side bearing onto the differential case. |
| 1.3. | Install the J 21784
(2)
and the J 8092
(1) over
the differential side bearing as shown. |
| 1.4. | Drive the bearing onto the differential case using the J 21784
and the J 8092
. |
- Install
the bell side differential side bearing by doing the following:
| 2.1. | In order to protect the differential case, install the J 8107-4
in the case on the side opposite the bearing
installation. |
| 2.2. | Install the differential side bearing onto the differential case. |
| 2.3. | Install the J 21784
(2)
and the J 8092
(1) over
the differential case bearing as shown. |
| 2.4. | Drive the bearing onto the differential case using the J 21784
and the J 8092
. |
