Removal Procedure
- Open the folding top.
 
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
 
- Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to 
Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement 
 in Interior Trim.
 
- Remove the floor console. Refer to 
Console Replacement 
 in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
 
- Move the passenger seat fully forward.
 
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to 
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection 
 in Engine Electrical.
 
- Push the sliding latch (1) downward
until fully extended, approximately 40 mm (1.6 in).
 
- Remove the connector (1) from the
electrical center.
 
- Remove the nut (4) retaining the
positive battery terminal to the electrical center.
 
- Fully loosen bolts (1, 2, 3).
 
- Release the 4 retaining tabs located at the top and bottom of the electrical
center.
 
- Remove the electrical center from the base.
 
- Removal all the block connectors including (1, 2) from the electrical
center base.
 
- Remove the nuts retaining the electrical center base to the console bracket
studs.
 
- Remove the electrical center base from the vehicle.
 
Installation Procedure
- Install the electrical center base to the vehicle.
 
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the nuts retaining the electrical center base to the console bracket
studs.
 
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
- Install all the block connectors including  (1, 2) to the electrical
center base. 
 
Ensure the connectors are fully seated.
- Install the electrical center to the base ensuring the 4 retaining tabs are
fully seated.
 
- Install the nut (4) retaining the
positive battery terminal to the electrical center.
 
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
- Tighten bolts (1, 2, 3).
 
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).
- Install the connector (1) to the
electrical center.
 
- Push the sliding latch (1) upward
until fully seated, approximately 40 mm (1.6 in).
 
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to 
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection 
 in Engine Electrical.
 
- Move the passenger seat fully rearward.
 
- Install the floor console. Refer to 
Console Replacement 
 in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
 
- Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to 
Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement 
 in Interior Trim.
 
- Close the folding top.
