Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1282315 Size: SH
  1. Remove the wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

    2. Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Remove the fitting (2) from the brake hose.
  3. Remove the E-ring retainer (3).
  4. Disconnect the brake hose mounting from the strut (1).
  5. Remove the coupling bolt (4).
  6. Plug the opening in the brake pipe and caliper to prevent fluid loss or contamination.
  7. Remove the brake hose.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1282316 Size: SH
  1. Install the brake hose.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Connect the brake lines to the brake hose (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe-to-hose fitting to 16 N·m(12 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake hose coupling bolt (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25.5 N·m(19.1 lb ft).

    Important: Use only General Motors recommended brake fluid.

  4. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  5. Inspect the brake system for leaks.
  6. Install the wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
