Removal Procedure
- Remove the wheels. Refer to 
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
 .
 
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.
- Remove the fitting (2) from the brake hose.
 
- Remove the E-ring retainer (3).
 
- Disconnect the brake hose mounting from the strut (1).
 
- Remove the coupling bolt (4).
 
- Plug the opening in the brake pipe and caliper to prevent fluid loss or contamination.
 
- Remove the brake hose.
 
Installation Procedure
- Install the brake hose.
 
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Connect the brake lines to the brake hose (1).
 
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe-to-hose fitting to 16 N·m(12 lb ft).
- Install the brake hose coupling bolt (2).
 
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25.5 N·m(19.1 lb ft).
Important: Use only General Motors recommended brake fluid.
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to 
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
 .
 
- Inspect the brake system for leaks.
 
- Install the wheels. Refer to 
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
 .
