Disconnect the connector at the stoplamp switch.
Connect a test lamp between the stoplamp switch connector cavity C, CKT 420 (PPL) and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Locate and repair the short to voltage on CKT 420 (PPL) between the following components:

•	The stoplamp switch and the cruise control module

•	The stoplamp switch and the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)

•	The stoplamp switch and the Vehicle Control Module (VCM)

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Adjust or replace the stoplamp switch.

Is the repair complete?
