Tools Required

1. Remove the valve rocker arm covers. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
2. Remove the valve rocker arms. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
3. Remove the spark plugs. Refer to Spark Plug Replacement in Engine Electrical.



4. Install the J 22794 into the spark plug hole.
5. Apply compressed air in order to hold the valves in place.
6. Install the valve rocker arm nut.



7. Use the J 5892-D in order to compress the valve spring.



8. Use the J 38606 if clearance does not permit use of J 5892-D.



9. Remove the valve keys (1).
10. Carefully release the valve spring tension.
11. Remove the J 5892-D or the J 38606 .
12. Remove the cap (2), rotator, and spring (4).
13. Remove the valve seal (3).

Tools Required

1. Install the new valve seal (3) over the valve stem and set it against the head.
2. Install the cap (2), rotator, and spring (4).
3. Use the J 5892-D in order to compress the valve spring.



4. Use the J 38606 if clearance does not permit use of J 5892-D.
5. Install the valve keys (1). Use grease in order to hold the valve keys in place.



6. Carefully release the valve spring pressure, making sure the valve keys stay in place.



7. Remove the J 5892-D or J 38606 and the J 22794 .
8. Install the spark plugs. Refer to Spark Plug Replacement in Engine Electrical.
9. Install the valve rocker arms. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
10. Install the valve rocker arm covers. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement .
