Important: 
|    •  | Do not remove the oil pump sprocket. Damage to the oil pump drive
shaft or abnormal oil pump operation may result. | 
 
|    •  | If the oil pump is found to be damaged or worn excessively replace
the oil pump as an assembly. | 
 
- Remove the 5 bolts and separate the oil pump halves.
 
Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.
- Remove the retainer (2), the spring
(3) and the relief valve (4).
 
- Apply light air pressure to the oil jet. Inspect the oil jet for
damage or clogging.
 
- Remove and inspect the relief valve. Coat the relief valve with
oil and check that it falls smoothly into the valve hole  by its own weight.
