Trim Replacement - Roof Bow Center 2 Door

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 488409 Size: SH

    Important: The roof panel trim appears to be seamed, however it is designed to be removed as a 1 piece unit. Attempting to remove the roof panel trim in pieces may damage the trim.

  1. Remove the sunshade supports (1). Refer to Sunshade Anchor Replacement .
  2. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
    3. 2.1. The 2 screws which secure each sunshade (3)
    2.2. The sunshades (3)
  3. Remove the folding top latches. Refer to Folding Top Latch Replacement in Roof.
  4. Remove the front assist handles. Refer to Front Assist Handle Replacement .
  5. Remove the upper center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .

  6. Remove the front dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Bulb Replacement - Front in Lighting Systems.
  7. Remove the following components from the roof panel (3):
    8. 7.1. The screw which secures each folding top material snap (1)
    7.2. The folding top material snaps (1)

  8. Remove the folding top side joint cover. Refer to Joint Cover Replacement - Folding Top Side Body .
  9. Lower the roof panel trim (1) by gently prying loose the plastic retainers which secure the panel.

    10. Object Number: 488414 Size: SH
  10. Remove the interior lighting wiring harness (2) from the roof panel trim (1).
  11. Remove the roof panel trim (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 488414 Size: SH
  1. Install the roof panel trim (1) to the vehicle.
  2. Route and tape the interior lighting wiring harness (2) to the roof panel trim (1).

    3. Object Number: 488411 Size: SH
  3. Install the roof panel trim (1) to the roof panel. Ensure that the plastic retainers are fully engaged.
  4. Install the folding top side joint cover. Refer to Joint Cover Replacement - Folding Top Side Body .

    5. Object Number: 478181 Size: SH
  5. Install the folding top material snaps (1) to the roof panel (3). Secure each snap with 1 screw.
  6. Install the front dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Bulb Replacement - Front in Lighting Systems.

    7. Object Number: 488409 Size: SH
  7. Install the upper center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the front assist handles. Refer to Front Assist Handle Replacement .
  9. Install the folding top latches. Refer to Folding Top Latch Replacement in Roof.
  10. Install the sunshades (3) to the vehicle. Secure each sunshade with 2 screws.
  11. Install the sunshade supports (1). Refer to Sunshade Anchor Replacement .
