Removal Procedure
- The front fender molding (3)
is attached to the fender with adhesive tape. Apply masking tape (1) to the
  body side  border of the molding to protect the body from scratches. The
 tape  will also  aid in aligning the fender molding (3) to the door
 molding (2)   during installation.
 
Important: Do not overheat the component.
- If the vehicle body is below 21°C (70°F) due to the shop temperature
or the outside temperature, use a auxiliary heat source   in order to warm
 the fender and molding before proceeding to the next step.
 
- Use J 41409 
or the equivalent in order to cut through the adhesive material.
 
- Remove the molding (3) from the vehicle.
 
Installation Procedure
- Clean the fender where
the molding (3) is to be mounted.
 
- Use a suitable solvent, such as a mixture of 50 percent
isopropyl alcohol and 50 percent water, or equivalent.
 
- Dry the area thoroughly.
 
Important: Apply the adhesive tape in an environment free of dust or dirt so that
it does not come in contact with the sticky backing and prevent proper adhesion.
- Install adhesive tape to the molding (3).
 
- If the vehicle body is below 21°C (70°F) due to the shop
temperature or the outside temperature, use a auxiliary heat   source in order
 to warm the fender before proceeding to the next step.
 
- Remove the adhesive tape release sheet.
 
- Apply the molding (3) to the fender using the masking tape
as a guide.
 
- Apply an equal amount of pressure along the molding (3)
to uniformly bond the molding to the fender.
