Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 471178 Size: SH
  1. Release the 4 retaining clips (2) on the air cleaner cover .
  2. Disconnect the EVAP system vent hose from the air cleaner cover.
  3. Lift the air cleaner cover and swing the cover away from the EVAP canister.

    4. Object Number: 158612 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the 3 EVAP hoses (1) from the EVAP canister.
  5. Remove the EVAP canister (2) from the canister bracket in the engine compartment.
  6. Inspect the EVAP purge system for carbon particle contamination before replacing the EVAP canister. Refer to Evaporative Emission System Cleaning .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 158612 Size: SH
  1. Install the EVAP canister (2) to the canister bracket in the engine compartment.
  2. Connect the 3 EVAP hoses (1) to the EVAP canister.
  3. Install the air cleaner cover onto the air cleaner assembly.

    4. Object Number: 471178 Size: SH
  4. Close the 4 retaining clips (2) on the air cleaner cover .
  5. Connect the EVAP system vent hose to the air cleaner cover.
