Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the reservoir  fluid level
 connector (2).
 
- Clean the outside of the reservoir.
 
- Remove the reservoir cap (1).
 
- Remove the reservoir diaphragm.
 
- Remove the fluid with a syringe.
 
Important: If the vehicle has a 1.6L engine, and if the vehicle does not have ABS,
  a screw retains the reservoir to the master cylinder. All other models utilize
  a pin in order to retain the reservoir.
- Remove the screw or the reservoir pin (5) using a drift.
 
- Remove the reservoir (2).
 
- Remove the reservoir grommets (3).
 
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Caution in the Preface section.
Notice: Refer to Filling the Master Cylinder Notice in the Preface section.
- Lubricate new grommets (3) with
 Delco Supreme 11 brake fluid,  GM P/N 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667),
or equivalent     DOT-3 brake fluid. Press-fit   the grommets  to the master
cylinder (4),     and seat the grommets  in  place.
 
- Install the reservoir to the master cylinder.
 
Important: Insert the reservoir pin until both of its ends at the right and the
  left of the reservoir become the same length.
- Install the reservoir pin (5) or the screw, as applicable.
 
- Install the reservoir diaphragm.
 
- Fill the reservoir. Refer to 
Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling 
.
 
- Install the reservoir cap (1).
 
- Inspect for fluid leakage.
 
- Connect the reservoir  fluid level connector (2).
