Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in the Preface section.
- Clean around the reservoir cap and remove
 fluid with a syringe or equivalent.
 
- Disconnect the brake pipes (1) from the proportioning valve (3).
 
- Remove the proportioning valve bolt.
 
- Remove the proportioning valve bracket bolt.
 
Important: Do NOT disassemble the proportioning valve assembly.
- Remove the proportioning valve.
 
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the proportioning valve (3) and the 2 bolts.
 
Tighten
|     •  | Tighten the proportioning valve bracket bolt to 10 N·m  
(88.5 lb in). | 
 
|     •  | Tighten the proportioning valve bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft). | 
 
- Install the brake pipes to the proportioning valve.
 
Tighten
Tighten the flare nuts (1) to 16 N·m (11.8 lb ft).
- Fill the brake fluid reservoir. Refer to 
Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling

- Bleed the air from the hydraulic brake system. Refer to 
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
