Removal Procedure
- Remove the spark plug wire. Refer to 
Spark Plug Wire Replacement.
 
- Remove the washer solvent container to gain access to the #2 spark plug. Refer to 
Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement.
 
- Loosen the spark plug 1-2 turns.
 
- Brush or using compressed air, blow away any dirt from around the spark plug.
 
- Remove the spark plug.
 
If removing more than one plug, place each plug in a tray marked with the corresponding cylinder number.
Installation Procedure
- Correctly position the spark plug washer.
 
- Inspect the spark plug gap. Adjust the gap as needed.
 
Specification
Spark plug gap: 1.524 mm (0.060 in)
- Hand start the spark plug in the corresponding cylinder.
 
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Tighten the spark plug.
 
| •  | For used heads, tighten the plug to 
15 N·m (11 lb ft). | 
 
| •  | For NEW heads, tighten the plug to 
20 N·m (15 lb ft). | 
 
- Install the spark plug wire. Refer to 
Spark Plug Wire Replacement.
 
- If removed, install the washer solvent container. Refer to 
Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement.
