Removal Procedure
  1. Open and support the hood.

    2. Object Number: 1479940 Size: SH
  2. Remove the hood latch cable (2) from the hood latch (1).

    3. Object Number: 1479942 Size: SH
  3. Remove the hood latch cable retaining clips (2).
  4. Attach a length of mechanics wire to the hood latch cable prior to removal. This lead will assist in reinstallation of the new hood latch cable.
  5. Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement .

    6. Object Number: 363889 Size: SH
  6. Remove the hood latch cable and grommet rearward from the passenger compartment.

    7. Object Number: 1479941 Size: SH
  7. Transfer the lead wire to the new hood latch cable (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1479938 Size: SH
  1. Using the lead wire, pull the new hood latch cable through the dash panel and into the engine compartment.
  2. Seat the grommet fully into the dash panel.
  3. Install the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1479940 Size: SH
  4. Install the hood latch cable (2) to the hood latch (1).

    5. Object Number: 1479942 Size: SH
  5. Install the hood latch cable retaining clips (2).
  6. Close the hood.
