Removal Procedure
  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the liftgate water deflector. Refer to Liftgate Water Deflector Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1479959 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the liftgate latch.
  4. Remove the liftgate latch retaining bolts.
  5. Using a small flat-bladed tool, remove the latch cable clip (2) from the liftgate latch.
  6. Release the latch cable retainer and remove latch cable from liftgate latch.
  7. Remove the liftgate latch from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1479959 Size: SH
  1. Install the liftgate latch to the liftgate
  2. Secure the lock cylinder cable (1) into the liftgate latch.
  3. Install the latch cable to the liftgate latch and engage latch cable retainer (2).
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the liftgate latch.

    5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the liftgate latch retainer bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the liftgate water deflector. Refer to Liftgate Water Deflector Replacement .
  7. Close the liftgate.
