Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 1999 🢒 Venture Ext. 🢒 Brakes 🢒 Hydraulic Brakes 🢒 Master Cylinder Diagnosis
  1. Inspect for master cylinder housing cracks. If the master cylinder is cracked, replace the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement .

    2. Important: A damp condition around the master cylinder is considered normal.

  2. Inspect for brake fluid leaks around the master cylinder.

    3. If the brake fluid has accumulated to form a drop of BRAKE fluid on the bottom of the master cylinder, repair or replace the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Overhaul or Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement .

  3. Inspect the brake fluid reservoir cap seal. If the brake fluid reservoir cap seal is swollen, perform the following steps:
    4. 3.1. Flush the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Flushing .

            Important: Replace all of the brake system components that have internal rubber components that cannot be serviced.

    3.2. Replace all of the brake system rubber components.
    3.3. Flush the hydraulic brake system again. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Flushing .
