- Inspect for master cylinder housing cracks. If the master cylinder
is cracked, replace the master cylinder. Refer to 
Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement

Important: A damp condition around the master cylinder is considered normal.
- Inspect for brake fluid leaks around the master cylinder.
 
If the brake fluid has accumulated to form a drop of BRAKE fluid on
the bottom of the master cylinder, repair or replace the master cylinder.

- Inspect the brake fluid reservoir cap seal. If the brake fluid
reservoir cap seal is swollen, perform the following steps: 
 
|          | Important: Replace all of the brake system components that have internal rubber
components that cannot be serviced.
