Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat belt buckle with pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Left Side or Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Right Side in SIR.
  4. Cut the cable strap that secures the seat belt warning lamp wire to the seat frame.

  5. Cut the cable straps that secure the 6-way power seat electrical harness to the adjuster assembly.

    6. Object Number: 318417 Size: MH
  6. Remove the seat adjuster bolts.
  7. Remove the adjuster from the seat frame.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 318417 Size: MH
  1. Install the adjuster to the seat frame.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the seat adjuster bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  3. Route the 6-way power seat electrical harness to the adjuster assembly.
  4. Secure with the cable straps.
  5. Route the seat belt warning lamp wire to the rear of the lift linkage.
  6. Secure with the cable strap to the seat frame.
  7. Install the seat belt buckle with pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Left Side or Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Right Side in SIR.
  8. Install the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  9. Install the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  10. Inspect the adjusters.

    11. If the adjusters are out of phase (one adjuster reaches its maximum horizontal or vertical travel in a given direction before the other adjuster) phase the adjusters as follows:

    • Horizontal travel
       - Operate the seat control switch until 1 adjuster reaches a full-forward position.
       - Detach the horizontal drive cable from the adjuster which has reached a full-forward position.
       - Operate the seat forward until the other adjuster reaches its forward position.
       - Connect the horizontal drive cable.
       - Inspect the horizontal travel of the seat.
    • Front or rear vertical travel
       - Operate the seat control switch until one adjuster has reached a fully raised position at both the front and the rear vertical travel limits.
       - Disconnect both of the vertical drive cables from the adjuster which has reached the fully raised position.
       - Operate the seat control switch until the other adjuster reaches the fully raised position at both of the front and the rear vertical limits.
       - Connect the previously removed front and rear vertical drive cables.
       - Inspect the vertical travel by operating the adjusters through 1-2 complete cycles.
       - The above operation may be repeated as required if the adjusters do not appear to be in phase after the test cycle.
  11. If the vehicle is equipped with memory seats, calibrate the seat. Refer to Memory Seat Calibration .
