The purpose of New Product Information is to highlight or indicate important product changes from the previous model year.

Changes may include one or more of the following items:

•	A component comparison from the previous year

•	Fastener changes

•	Torque values and/or fastener tightening strategies

•	Changed engine specifications

•	New sealants and/or adhesives

•	Disassembly and assembly procedure revisions

•	Engine mechanical diagnostic procedure revisions

•	New special tools required

No new components for 2003.

No fastener changes for 2003.

•	Crankshaft Position Sensor Wiring Bracket Bolt was 40 N·m (30 lb ft) is now 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

•	Spark Plug - New Cylinder Head was 27 N·m (20 lb ft) is now 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

•	Lower Intake Manifold Bolt Strategy is now First Pass 7 N·m (62 lb in); Final Pass 13 N·m (115 lb in).

A new Engine Mechanical Specifications chart has been implemented into the 2003 service manual.

No new sealants and/or adhesives for 2003.

•	Oil Level Indicator and Tube Removal and Installation procedure has been revised.

•	Exhaust Manifold - Left/Right Removal and Installation procedure has been revised.

•	Water Outlet Removal and Installation is now Water Outlet and Thermostat Removal and Installation.

•	Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal and Installation - Left/Right procedure has been revised.

•	Camshaft and Bearings Cleaning and Inspection procedure has been revised.

•	Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection - Lower procedure has been revised.

•	Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Installation procedure has been revised.

•	Engine Prelubing procedure has been added.

•	Coolant in Combustion Chamber Diagnostic Procedure has been added.

•	Coolant in Engine Oil Diagnostic Procedure has been added.
