J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the left side diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement - Left Side in Body Front End.

Important: Use the J 38185 to gently release tension on the hose clamp until the hose clamp lock feature engages allowing removal of the hose.




3. Release tension from the hose clamp at the radiator using the J 38185 .
4. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.
5. Release tension from the hose clamp at the thermostat housing using the J 38185 .
6. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the thermostat housing.
7. Remove the radiator inlet hose.

1. Install the radiator inlet hose.
2. Connect the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.

Important: Release the hose clamp retention lock by using a small flat bladed screwdriver.

3. Release the hose clamp retention lock at the radiator to secure the hose.
4. Connect the radiator inlet hose to the thermostat housing.
5. Release the hose clamp retention lock at the thermostat housing to secure the hose.
6. Install the left side diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement - Left Side in Body Front End.
7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
