Faulty high speed teeth on range sleeve  | Inspect the planetary carrier high speed teeth for damage. Replace the range sleeve if the teeth are faulty. Refer to Transfer Case Assemble in Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair Manual.  | 
Faulty range fork  | Inspect the range fork for damage and replace the range fork if it is damaged.  | 
Range fork bushing and springs  | Inspect the range fork springs for being faulty. Refer to Transfer Case Cleaning and Inspection in Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair Manual. Inspect the range fork shaft bushing for wear. Refer to Transfer Case Cleaning and Inspection in Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair Manual.  |
