Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the garnish molding screws.
  2. Remove the front passenger's seat belt upper retainer. Refer to Front Seat Shoulder Belt Guide Adjuster Replacement in Seat Belts.

    3. Object Number: 314682 Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts that retain the assist handle to the pillar.

    4. Object Number: 314680 Size: SH
  4. Pull back on the garnish molding to release the fasteners.
  5. Remove the garnish molding.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear side door stepwell lamp.

Installation Procedure
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the rear side door stepwell lamp.

    2. Object Number: 314680 Size: SH
  2. Install the molding to the pillar:
    3. 2.1. Align the fasteners with the slots in the pillar.
    2.2. Press firmly until the fasteners are fully seated.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the bolts that retain the assist handle to the pillar.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts that retain the assist handle to the pillar to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  4. Install the front passenger's seat belt upper retainer. Refer to Front Seat Shoulder Belt Guide Adjuster Replacement in Seat Belts.
  5. Install the retaining screws.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
